X-ray
Last Updated: Thursday, 16 April 2026An X-ray is a test that takes pictures of the inside of your body using a small amount of radiation.

If you have been referred for an x-ray by your GP, you can now attend a walk in service without needing to pre-book an appointment. The walk-in service is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 4:30pm. There are several clinics available locally:-
· Elective Care Centre, Aintree Hospital
· Litherland Town Hall (please note that after 4:30pm patients will need to phone 0151 529 8988 for an appointment to attend this clinic).
· St Chads Walk-In Centre, Kirkby (after 4:30pm and weekends phone 0151 529 8988 for an appointment).
· Kenilworth Road, Crosby has a clinic which is appointment only. Please call 0151 529 8988 to book.
Please be aware that referrals may be cancelled if you do not attend within two weeks of the date when you were referred.
