News about the Appointment System
We currently offer on-the-day appointments with some availability to pre-book an appointment with a GP. If you feel you need to be seen today please let the receptionist know. You may be asked to give a reason and this will help you to receive the most appropriate care.
You may be asked for a brief indication of your problem so that our trained reception staff can sign post you to the most appropriate service.
We have two Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) and it may be more appropriate for you to receive an appointment with an ANP.
We do offer a daily GP triage system. This means that you will be added to the duty doctor telephone list and they will call you back to assess your health needs and decide the most appropriate course of action.
We also offer 20 minute pre-bookable Practice Nurse appointments.
Every part of the building is accessible by wheelchair and all other facilities were designed specifically to assist those who are in wheelchairs, with wide doors and corridors and low level light switches and door handles. We have recently changed signage to aid the visually impaired There is parking around the building and elsewhere on the site with approximately 140 parking spaces available. Local buses stop in Carr Lane and Utting Avenue East.
Please note we are currently unable to obtain Adult Hepatitis A or Typhoid vaccinations, therefore please contact the School of Tropical Medicine for these vaccines. However, combined Hepatitis A&B vaccinations are available.
Ellergreen Medical Centre entered all patients who registered for online access during June 2018 into a free prize draw to win a computer tablet. Online access makes ordering your repeat prescriptions easier. Just ask our staff for a log-in to get you started. Our winner told us "I signed up for online access to make life easier. I've never won anything so it was a big surprise, thank you Ellergreen!".
