News about the Appointment System
Following feedback from patients from the start of February 2016 the appointment system will be changing to give more “on the day” appointments in morning surgeries. Prebookable appointments with the doctor of your choice are still available and in the afternoons we are able to offer longer (15 minute) appointments to help patents with more complex problems. There are also more slots for telephone consultations for patients who may not need to see the doctor face to face. We would welcome feedback on how the system is working.
Dr Shiffman has reduced to working part time, generally on a Monday and Tuesday. Dr Redmond will be retiring at the end of June 2017 after over 30 years service with us.
We have a new Practice Nurse, Michelle Ryder, working every Monday and Tuesday.
We have a new Nurse Practitioner, Jan Lyon, who started with us July 2017.
Every part of the building is accessible by wheelchair and all other facilities were designed specifically to assist those who are in wheelchairs, with wide doors and corridors and low level light switches and door handles. We have recently changed signage to aid the visually impaired There is parking around the building and elsewhere on the site with approximately 140 parking spaces available. Local buses stop in Carr Lane and Utting Avenue East.
Please note we are currently unable to obtain Adult Hepatitis A or Typhoid vaccinations, therefore please contact the School of Tropical Medicine for these vaccines. However, combined Hepatitis A&B vaccinations are available.
