Healthcare Abroad
Last Updated: Tuesday, 31 March 2026Since Brexit, the EHIC has now been replaced with the UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). If you are travelling you will need to apply for this card in order to access healthcare abroad. This may also be required in addition to your travel insurance.

If you are applying for travel insurance and need to check certain medical conditions, medications or your vaccination history, this can be accessed via the NHS App. If you are unable to access the data here then our receptionists can provide a summary print out free of charge. Please bring photo ID with you when you attend the surgery, and where possible, please come later in the day when typically our receptionists will have more time to assist with these matters.
